The path that L'homme Puma have taken is fascinating: 2007 - epic post-rock screamo four-piece; 2009 - instrumental post-rock three-piece, still guitar based but short and sweet songs; 2012 - down to a two-piece, guitars ditched, we're left with drums and electronica, plus guest vocals on most of the songs from a variety of individuals, including a robot. There can be very few bands who can claim such a contrast over time.

I don't really know what to say about this album. It doesn't flow at all from song to song. it has great moments but is far too inconsistent. And I REALLY miss the guitars. 'Chestburster' sounds like a level on a computer game where you have about a minute to escape the mansion. Haunting. 'M Buddy' actually goes back to the band's old days and is my favourite - perhaps because it reminds me of French emo bands like Amanda Woodward. Overall a very challenging but innovative record.
