The cover is a photograph of someone who looks like a member of Motley Crue without his makeup on, wearing a white, woollen turtleneck and playing the piano on short, its pretty fucking brilliant.

Presented with this image, I was of course expecting an album of piano-based covers of Crue Classics. However, what I instead received was something inescapably reminiscent of those scenes in the last episode of Twin Peaks where Cooper is sitting in that red-curtained room, whilst a horse clip clops about and a tiny dude speaks backwards.

This is a fantastic album of the sort of music which generally soundtracks Bogart, Ladd or Mitchum stalking a city in which the streets are dark with something more than night.
