holy shit i was slack reviewing this one. i'm not super familiar with white hills' daunting back catalogue, bar previous record 'frying on this rock' which sold me on having a song which was the same one-note riff played for 12 minutes (eternally a sucker for the repetitive grooves). if the words COSMIC and STONER appear frequently in your collection this shit is for you, but the band remain scuzzy enough to appeal to the mudhoney-loving punk who's a little too narrow-minded to check out a hawkwind record. can we talk about how their bass player is called EGO SENSATION? not a lot of use trying to write flowery prose about a band like white hills: all business, huge fucking riffs, solos, weird space noises and a drummer who pounds away relentlessly. great record.
