An interesting one here - this is Stockport poet Elise Hadgraft's project and is the first time she has set her words to music. She has something of a way with words with vivid imagery and a sharp, dark wit. The first track, "Seven Miles South" is about Stockport, "the spiritual home of universally low self esteem", and provides a window into northern England with pre-fab kitchens, McVitie's biscuits and viaducts. The music backing this all is a kind of restrained synthpop sound - slightly 80s-esque too. Closing track "Bleach" is much darker, and is scathing of its subject's boyfriend and his actions with his "Jarvis Cocker jacket and Jeremy Clarkson shoes".
