Always feel like Life get kinda ignored when it comes to the The Grand Pantheon Of Japanese Hardcore, which seems both unfair and rather a shame. This four-track EP sees them keeping on keeping on in much the same way they have been since the early 90s, belting out thick, muscly crust with a great clunking bass sound and no shortage of ripping solos. The two tracks on the A-side bulldoze merrily away while the two on the flip inject a bit more ragged melody, and it's this side of the record I've been drawn to more and more. Great stuff, of course, and fingers crossed that they keep bashing it out for many more years to come.
