Sean Na Na is a person. Not a group of people. Like say Bob Tilton or Paul Newman or Charles Bronson. Not entirely solo on this record either, he employs help from members of various bands like Aspera Ad Astra , Grotto, Tune In Tokyo etc. With that, they present ten blissful melodies of indie pop brilliance. Where the album title so appropriately suggests; 'Dance Till Your Baby Is A Man'.

That's it. Sean is literally telling you to stand up. Don't stand still. And don't ever stop. Even if his words are mean and cynical and spiteful. Even when the rhythm turns sour and glum on 'Slow To The Core'. Because the moment you wire down, the groove rebounds. The mood picks up. And it's 'Gray Clouds'. With it's joyful and uplifting strumming. Of pounding drumbeats and delightful keyboard sweetness. Crooning about dancing on your grave and seeing you in hell.

Gosh it's almost like listening to The Smiths all over again. But it's not Morissey with his deep brooding vocals. It's Mr Tillman-Na-Na and I can hardly find a comparison of who he sounds like. And therefore, there will be no comparison. And I'm left here. Needle off the record. Still dancing. Mesmerised.
