This is the real deal. Fucking disgusting unholy wretched black metal with a touch of melody that keeps it afloat. The horrifying guitar playing is beautifully grimm, the riffs are strong and the semi Dissection melodies really make this stand out. The vocals are classic Burzum style screams whilst the drumming is straight up Darkthrone style thrash. The music as a whole transports you to another world, like when you’ve taken loads of drugs and find yourself running around a graveyard. The quality of some of the new black metal releases, especially from Moribund, has been astounding. Sargeist manage to play classic old school black metal without sounding like something you’ve heard before. Like a lonely walk along the beaches of Eastern England this release will haunt you until your down on your knees trembling.
