In amongst the seeming hundreds of noise releases I've somehow accumulated over the years is this little gem. As usual with Black Horizons, it comes nicely packaged in screened black card, the unusual gatefold sealed with wax, so you have to bust that open to get at the music. Belying their name, Warmth's "She Went" actually sounds quite chilly, an illbient effort offering what seems like spaceship hulls brushing by each other, complete with fizzing electronics and other neat effects. Robe's "Submerge" is similarly formless but is the dronier proposition, bizarre forties-style wind instruments choo-chooing away while a mineworks grinds away in the distant background, sounding through the night. Like all good splits, this has two distinct outfits that still fit when paired up.
